Louisa Seton

Louisa Seton grew up in Nairobi, Kenya and she studied Fine Art at Rhodes University, South Africa, majoring in Photography.

“Growing up in Africa I lived and interacted with a variety of different communities which helped inspire a deep respect for the people I encountered and the ways in which they live their lives. Language, race and religion were never a cultural barrier they rather stimulated a natural curiosity in me that went far beyond my formal education. It inspired me to become a visual storyteller and traverse the globe with my camera documenting the vast and intimate fabric of people’s lives. My purpose is to increase understanding, awareness and give people a voice through my photographs. I have a strong passion to empower women in lower socio economic communities. I can never truly convey my deep appreciation to these communities for allowing me into their worlds; their individual stories are equally as compelling as they are educational, my hope is not only to bring insight to me but through my images greater awareness to the collective as a whole”Louisa has successfully forged an international photographic career as a lifestyle documentary photographer and a Fine Art photographer.
