Jasper Knight
Jasper Knight, is a mid-career artist, with numerous awards, including, the Helen Lempriere traveling Art Scholarship in 2003, the Brett Whiteley traveling scholarship in 2005 and the Mosman Art Prize in 2008. Jasper has been an Archibald finalist seven times and four times finalist of the Wynne to mention just two! He is the brother of writer and presenter Dominic Knight, and grandson of Sir Harold Knight (economist).
Jasper Knight has held solo exhibitions in Adelaide, Alice Springs, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, as well as Internationally in London. He completed residencies in Sydney, Germany and China. His work is held by the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; Artbank, Sydney and several regional galleries and numerous private collections around the world.
Knight is best known for depicting industrial boats, cars and landscapes using bold (typically) premier colours, with slick enamel paint on discarded signs with perspex, masonite and plywood.
As a mid-career artist, well represented and with a huge fan base his work remains very collectable!
