Adam Cullen
Kelly | Acrylic on linen | 152 x 152cm
I’m very excited to present you with a selection of artworks by Adam Cullen, with something for everyone – though the Kelly painting (in the title) is the standout piece, which will (I imagine) be going to a new home fairly soon and I wish it was mine!
I had the pleasure of meeting Adam in 2006 and was immediately attracted to him and his work – so I bought a small piece. He was edgy in character and definitely a genius of some discription, I would say. His work is either hated and often misunderstood or loved or both!
Adam’s work is known for it’s provocation and is often confronting. He gained recognition for his distinct style and exploration of themes related to violence, crime, and the darker aspects of life. Cullen’s artwork is characterized by bold brushstrokes, vivid colors, and a raw intensity that reflects his fascination with blood, gore, ancient animals, Kelly and the macabre. Basically anything dead or related to it!
